On this tour, you will visit the Western Carpathians. This mountain range spans regions of Europe that are incredibly diverse in terms of ethnicity, politics, and religion. Here, you will encounter a blend of peoples and cultures—including Slovaks, Poles, Hungarians, Austrians, Germans, and Jews, as well as Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant communities—all of whom have left their mark on the region.
Rest assured, however, that this is not intended to be a heavy-duty cultural tour. If you prefer enjoying beautiful landscapes, forests, and mountains, you will certainly find plenty to appreciate. With mostly short daily stages, the trip offers ample free time—especially for hikers, cyclists, and photographers.
This trip covers a section of the longer "Carpathians" tour.
